6ix9ine joined in with the Super Bowl festivities
over the weekend, making his way to Minneapolis to align himself with
some of the biggest names in the industry, in addition to offering a few
public performances.
The Brooklyn native posed with Birdman and Young Thug for a photo Saturday (Feb. 3), in which he teased signing with Rich Gang on Instagram, "Just signed to Birdman RICHGANG $15 million February 23rd," he wrote.
Tekashi has been known for his trolling ways, and this claim has still not been confirmed by anyone outside of the Instagram post. Young Thug happened to comment on the picture of the rappers, "Ur perfect....BTW." DJ Akademiks even teased a possible collaboration between 6ix9ine and Thugger on Twitter, "That Young Thug and Tekashi 69 collab coming soon... wait on it," he tweeted with the accompanying photo.
The "Keke" artist's Sunday night (Feb. 4) performance was disrupted by a stream of bottles and glasses launched at him on stage, while the 21-year-old's "Gummo" record bellowed in the background. 6ix9ine was forced to cut his set short and eventually left the venue. He later posted a since-deleted Instagram video early Monday (Feb. 5) letting fans know that he was alright, "STILL UNTOUCHED TALKIN MY SHIT YALL HATE IT ---- TALK OF THE CITY LOL," read the caption. Last month, 6ix9ine claimed he netted a deal worth $7.5 million on Instagram.
Billboard has reached out to 6ix9ine's management for comment.
